Raffaella Galdi
was born in Genoa, Italy and lives in Berlin. She is a choreographer, a dancer and a teacher.
Training in classical and contemporary dance, she attended the Ecole de Danse Rosella Hightower, in Cannes, France, and received her diploma from the modern dance academy Rotterdamdansacademie, in Rotterdam, Holland.
As a dancer she has been a member of the Berlin-based company Cie. Toula Limnaios, the Belgian Companie Thor, the Luxembourg company Unit Control, and the Holland company De Dutch don‘t Dance Division. As a freelancer dancer she has worked with choreographers including Rui Horta, LaborGras, Christoph Winkler, Ingo Reulecke, Tomi Paasonen, Helge Müsial.
Raffaella has been choreographing and dancing the solo Legna, the performance-installation Ugo, the dance performances MODES of locomotion. Relations, her latest creation, has been commissioned by the City Theater Vorpommern in Greifswald.
Since 2009 she is developing an artistic collaboration with Carlos Bustamante, filmmaker, photographer and cinematographer. Together they created the dance video installation Birchwood Edge and Ufergang.
Raffaella is a choreographer in residence at the artblau - Tanzwerkstatt in Braunschweig. She is actively supporting Studio LaborGras Berlin and she is regularly teaching contemporary dance in Germany and abroad.
